Ben Roethlisberger has placed himself in another crazy situation. He has been accused of sexual assault in a college town near Atlanta Georgia. This is now the second time that he has been in a situation like this. Now, it is no secret that I love the Pittsburgh Steelers. I grew up with them in the days prior to their winning ways. I lived through their transition to one of the dominant teams in the league. I have been to the stadium when the terrible towels are swirling and the concrete vibrates under your feet from the excitement. They are a big part of the city of Pittsburgh and will always hold a special place in my heart win or lose. However, if Ben is responsible for abusing girls he should be held accountable. If he has committed these crimes he should be punished. If he has violated the conduct policies of the NFL, like they claim so many black athletes have done, he should be suspended. Not only that, but his decision making has got to change. After watching the Rooney family handle things down through the years, he will not be permitted to continue to behave like this. If he needs some type of help, he better get it. If he needs to change his running partners, he better do it. If he needs to figure out better ways to manage his drives, he better find them. The Lord is not pleased with the choices he is making. The Steelers will not tolerate trouble makers no matter what their talent level is. We like to win as very team does, but we will not stain the city trying to do it. What does this have to do with us? It shows us once again how quickly things can go wrong for us humans. We must guard our decision making just as much as well known stars do. We must deal with our issues, whatever they may be, too. We are a product of our daily decisions. What we do reflects on who we represent. We can stain our families by our behavior. Even more so, we stain the kingdom of God when we behave badly. We should not let negative behavior dampen our influence. Put in the work!
